NOTE: Please complete Part Two before going any further.
Also, remember that you are not limited to *just* six fabrics. I am doing this from my scrap bag and will have only a few units that are the same!
Using the 1/2 yard of light fabric and the 1/4 yard of dark fabric cut the following (or the equivalent scraps from your scrap bag):
dark fabric strips 2-1/2" wide by whatever length (if this comes out of your scrapbag it is whatever length available, if you are cutting from a full piece of fabric is will be approximately 44")
light fabric strips 4-1/2" wide by whatever length (if this comes out of your scrapbag it is whatever length available, if you are cutting from a full piece of fabric is will be approximately 44")
strip piece the light and dark fabrics together so that you have a strip (or several strips) similar to that shown in figure 5

Cut across the seam for pieces that are 2-1/2" x 6-1/2". Press seam towards the dark fabric.
You will need 36 pieces of the configuration shown in figure 6
